Be careful when loading. 30-30 will fit and get jammed in the chamber. Be sure of ammunition type and match it to what is listed on the barrel. Removing a live round from a jammed locked action can be a dangerous endeavor. Take it to a professional.

The Auto-5 has a system of bevel rings and a friction piece or pieces, which re**rd the barrel's rearward travel. Setting these rings correctly is vital to good shotgun performance and to ensure a long life to the weapon, by controlling excessive recoil. The friction rings are set based on the type of load to be fired through the gun. Different settings are found in the owner's manual.
