Long post comin atcha ✍️✍️✍️
I wanted to touch a little more on my own personal journey, not just with Pilates and fitness, but with the mental, physical, and emotional battles that so many women share. I went through my photos and found one of the very few "before" pictures I have. In fact, I chose one of the hardest ones for me to look at. Because when I see it, I don't feel like I'm looking at myself. I was fortunate growing up. I was active, had a fast metabolism, and didn't really struggle with weight until after having my first baby. But not gaining weight doesn't automatically equal confidence or self esteem. I've found that the truth is, for every woman you envy, she's probably comparing herself to 1,000 others. We are often our own harshest critics. It wasn't until after having my three children that I truly began to appreciate how incredible our bodies are. What our bodies endure, create, and recover from is nothing short of amazing. They deserve a lot more grace and credit than we could ever give them. But man does it CHANGE so much about your body. Do I still complain? Absolutely. Do I still have things I'd like to improve? Of course. But I'll be damned if I don't acknowledge how far I've come. Whether it's aging, hormones, stress, motherhood, postpartum changes, health struggles, mental health, or simply the way we see ourselves, we're all navigating something. That's why I believe finding an outlet that supports both your body and your mind is one of the most important things you can do. For me, that's always been fitness. Weight training, Pilates, learning about nutrition, and surrounding myself with people who encourage growth and self improvement have helped me through some of my toughest seasons. And that's one of the reasons I love the community at Azle Fitness Center so much. It's encouraging, welcoming, and full of people simply trying to become the best version of themselves. If you're struggling, feeling stuck, or just don't know where to start, send me a message. I'd love to help you find what makes you feel like ✨YOU✨ again. There are so many group classes at AFC and even if my class isn't your thing, I bet we can find one that is! And if I can help even one person the way Pilates Sculpt has helped me, sharing this vulnerable before & after will be worth it. 🫶
