Solid work today in Columbia at the National Guard Ironman. Cody McCracken took first in all 3 styles of folkstyle, freestyle, and Greco to become an Ironman champion. Ryder Soles also took first in all 3 styles to become an Ironman champion. Jaret Edwards wrestled 10 matches on the day going 9-1 to take 1st in Greco and folkstyle and finished in 2nd place in freestyle. Super proud of the boys for showing up and dominating today! As always thank you to the parents for the support! I love being able to help them get better.

The Blue Jacket Club had some great wrestling on day 1 of the Southeast Regionals National tournament. In Folkstyle we had Matt Williams return to the mat for the first time in over a year and take 4th place on the national stage. We also had Riley Hucks take 1st place in folkstyle!!!!

In Greco we had 3 placers and Fargo qualifiers on the national stage! Cody McCracken placed 6th at 106 and unfortunately was injured in the tournament however he still got the job done to place! We also had a Greco National finalist in 138lb Conner Lambert, the kid might need stitches and got a nasty shiner, but he won some huge matches to earn 2nd place and become a runner up. And then we had a Greco Champion with 195lb Riley Hucks who was dropping bombs today!

We also had great Greco wrestling from Ryder Soles who fell one match short of placing, but he won some big matches and got some big throws in the process. Overall I’m super proud of our results on day 1!

Jaret Edwards showed a lot of grit today and hit some big moves on the national stage!

Dylan Carroll wrestled some tight matches and showed some funky stuff today!

Johnny Staples wrestled some tough matches and always brings a never give up grit that you admire as a coach.

Super proud of all the guys for coming out to a national tournament and putting up results.

Excited to be bringing 8 wrestlers up the Cherokee, North Carolina for Freestyle/Greco Regionals! Hopefully we will be bringing home some hardware and have some Fargo qualifiers. Wrestlers competing: 106 Cody McCrackin, 113 Jaret Edwards, 132 Johnny Staples, 138 Conner Lambert, 145 Dylan Carroll, 152 Ryder Soles, 195 Riley Hucks, and excitingly our 160 Matt Williams will be returning back to action after his knee injury and missing the season! His leadership never goes unnoticed and can’t wait for him to win it all!

All right we are 12 days out from the Southeast Regional in Cherokee, NC. Practice will be every Monday, Wednesday and Friday of the next two weeks, everyone should be in attendence if they aren't involved in another sport. We hope for everyone to want to compete in all 3 styles so you only have to weigh in Friday, if you decide you only want to do 2 then you will have to maintain weight throughout the weekend. We need to be at the Casino on Friday by 3:30 to be safe for weigh-ins and check in by state. We've all worked hard for this so let's continue to practice hard and we hope to have all our guys quailify for the National Championships in Fargo, ND.

Words can’t describe how proud we are of these kids, brought 8 kids to the Pelion Ironman and they showed out. 3 Ironman champions who took first in all 3 divisions and a total metal count of 21 as a team.
Connor Lambert- Ironman Champion in Folk style, Freestyle and Greco.
Emmanuel Deas- Ironman Champion in Folk Style, Freestyle, and Greco.
Riley Hucks- Ironman Champion in Folk Style, Freestyle and Greco.
Dylan Carroll- 1st in Folk Style, 1st in Freestyle, and 2nd in Greco.
Noah Johnson- 1st in Greco, 2nd in Freestyle, and 4th in Folk style.
John Michael Staples- 3rd in Greco, 3rd in Freestyle and 3rd in Folk Style.

Hey everyone, this is our welcome post for the Blue Jacket Wrestling Club. The club is offically up and running and paperwork will be getting finalized. We competed in our first tournamnet yesterday at the SCYWA state championships. We had a great showing everyone wrestled tough. We had 9 wrestlers compete with 6 placers. Noah Johnson placed 4th at 145lbs, Tanner Carroll placed 4th at 152lbs, Dylan Carroll came in 2nd at 145lbs and was a scywa state finalist, Connor Lambert was the Scywa sate champion at 132lbs, Riley Hucks was the scywa state champion at 195lbs, and Emmanuel Deas was the scywa state champion at 220lbs. Also got to see some great wrestling from Jaret Edwards, Taylor Carroll, and Jacob Johnson who wrestled his first ever tournament. Lots of positives this weekend and ready for it to carry over into great summer wrestling.
