📱 POOL PASS REMINDER!

The Sycamore Hills Pool season begins Monday, June 8, and we want to help make your first visit as smooth as possible.

All pool memberships are digital. Before opening day, please log in to your AvonRec account and make sure you can access your membership card(s).

To save time at the gate:
✔ Screenshot your membership cards and save them to your phone
✔ Create a "Pool Passes" folder for easy access all summer long
✔ Print your passes if you prefer a paper copy
✔ Have all barcodes open and ready before reaching the front of the line

Each household member has their own barcode that must be scanned upon entry.

Please take a few minutes to review the instructions in this post before your first visit. A little preparation now will help keep lines moving and get everyone into the pool faster!

What better way to celebrate than with a community bike parade? Don’t forget — the Avon 250 Bike Parade is just ONE MONTH AWAY!

Join us on July 7th for a fun evening of patriotic spirit, decorated bikes, games, giveaways, live music, and community celebration as we continue honoring the 250th anniversary! 🎆

📍 Start: Pine Grove School at 5:30 PM
🎶 End: FREE concert at Sycamore Hills at 6:00 PM

🌞 Town Hall Summer Hours Begin June 22

Town Hall will shift to summer hours starting Monday, June 22, through Friday, August 28.

Summer Hours
• Monday–Thursday: 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
• Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

☀️ Gearing up for a safe, fun, and memorable summer for the Avon community!

This week, our seasonal team came together for All Staff Training as we prepare for another exciting season with Avon Recreation & Parks. Staff reviewed safety procedures, program policies, leadership expectations, emergency protocols, customer service, and more — all to help ensure our camps, parks, pools, programs, and events provide the best possible experience for our residents and families this summer.

We are incredibly grateful for the dedicated staff members who help make our community such a special place. Their enthusiasm, care, and commitment play a huge role in creating positive experiences for so many Avon children, families, and residents each year.

Summer is almost here, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back! ☀️🌳🏊🎉

⚡🔧 Calling all future inventors, engineers, and coders! 💻✨

This summer, kids can explore the exciting world of electronics, coding, creativity, and hands-on STEM learning with TWO awesome programs from Avon Recreation & Parks!

🤖 Circuit Makers 101 (Grades 1–3)
Kids will build and create using lights, buzzers, switches, motors, sensors, and more while learning the basics of circuitry through fun, interactive projects!

💡 Interactive Coding for Kids (Grades 3–5)
Students will dive into Scratch programming while combining coding with hands-on circuit projects like musical instruments, game controllers, and pressure sensors!

📅 June 29 – July 2 (Monday–Thursday)

🕘 Circuit Makers 101: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
🕐 Interactive Coding for Kids: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

🎤 Calling all singers ages 7–12! 🎤

Be part of something special this summer with the Community Voices Youth Choir — a FREE opportunity to perform as part of the Avon & Farmington 250 Celebration on June 26!

Participants will work with Michael Lamb of Performing Arts Programs to learn and perform the original song “We Stand” during this historic community celebration. No experience necessary — just bring your voice and enthusiasm!
