What a wonderfully successful few days it's been skiing with my client, Helen. She arrived in Vail as a fairly timid, no better than lower-intermediate, skier and is leaving as a confident and far more competent upper intermediate that can now genuinely carve the middle and end phase of most turns she makes. That, along with now being able to ski, at moderate speed, single black diamond runs/red in Europe, that are littered with medium sized, powder-covered moguls. Helen now has set herself on a path to becoming, if the desire is there and she spends enough time on the ski hill, a more or less, tackle most terrain, skier. How did Helen manage such a transformation in her skiing fortunes? She, with the help of my coaching, began to overcome her fears by going all the way back to the basics of re-setting her skiing stance to one that is far more athletic; one that allows her to, at will, become powerfully balanced on her skis. Once she began to master those basic athletic-stance and balance skills she created enough technical ability that her edge and pressure control abilities could easily develop, so allowing her to mix ski skidding and carving abilities that allow for a high degree of control on, more or less, any slope gradient of that lady's choice. Those new abilities indeed enhanced the one the thing vital to good performance, skier confidence! A facet so precious. How will Helen continue on with her quest to become even more advanced? She will do it by remembering and putting into action the following - "An advanced/expert skier is a beginner that continues to master the Basics!" If you can (athletically) stand on your skis, you can balance. If you can balance and continually recover that balance through first recovering your athletic stance then your turns and all other general skiing skills will also continue to improve. Of that, be in no doubt. To learn more about the above described skills get my Amazon #1 best-selling PDF book, www.The7secretsOfskiing.com. Other skiing experts have informed me that the information found in the book is fully accurate. Plus, of course, if the information gleaned is accurately put into action, positive results will be forthcoming. Come ski with me too. Look what happened to Helen's skiing! I don't care how advanced, or otherwise, you may think you are, I can help you to gain comparable results to those that Helen and so many others are benefiting from. Have a great ski season.
