Avon Trailhead of Lake Wobegon Trail

Avon Trailhead of Lake Wobegon Trail Wobegon Park is the trail head in Avon. If you would like you can go for a swim in Middle S***k Lake at the public beach two blocks west of Wobegon Park.

There is lots of parking, restrooms, fresh water, picnic shelters with tables and an observation tower where you can get an overview of the area.

Tomorrow is the actual August Sturgeon Super Full Moon but it was almost cloud free tonight so here's the pic I took.

It's called the Sturgeon Full Moon because this was the time of Native Americans caught the most Sturgeon on Lake Superior!

Also we will have 2nd Full Moon in August. When this happens the 2nd Full Moon is called Blue Moon! There's no scientific explanation for name. It's simple because it happens rarely and term simply means it's a rare event.

Both are also called Super Moons because the Moon is closer to earth then at other times.

Hello ... looking for some help for one of our Lake Wobegon Trail users. They are looking for a pair of glasses lost recently. . Below is the information that we received ... thanks for your help! Let me know if you find them or hear that someone did. Cliff 320-293-9364

My daughter lost her reading glasses while riding the trail on Sunday july 14th. They are white and black “Guess” brand with quite significant far sighted lenses. If anyone has turned in a pair, will you please contact me? Thank you in advance!

I had to ask my daughter, and she's not the best with details, but she said she "rode the trail from the College of St Ben's to about 6 miles past the left turn that would lead you to St John's and then back to St Ben's."

Hey everyone... we need your help! Please post trail conditions as you use the trail to help others know if the can use the trail for cycling and roller blading!

I've been getting calls, emails and texts asking about trail conditions... everyone is anxious to get out and use the trails!
