Some amazing things are happening with AJAA and the Town of Avon. To make a long story short, we have partnered to create Avon Indiana Sports, where Avon Youth Sports will live and thrive. Part of that process is changing; while it can be different, the ultimate goal is to offer even more to the community, especially the youth in Avon. This post will be placed on all of the social media pages and groups AJAA has used. Our goal and hope is to add clarity and information to anyone who desires it.

WEBSITE: Currently, we will still be utilizing our standalone website. Once we have our new system in place, we will be migrating over to that, but the great thing for you is that you can start getting used to visiting avonindiana.gov/sports now and bookmark it for future use! Getting used to it now will help make the transition to a new system smoother.

FACEBOOK: All groups and pages outside of the main "Avon Indiana Sports" (previously AJAA) page will be locked. This means that no additional posts or comments will be allowed. We are striving to streamline our outlets into just a few higher-quality sources. You are encouraged to visit Avon Indiana Sports to like and follow.

18U team Gilbrech fought hard last week in the 18U tournaments and made it all the way to the final championship game. Unfortunately, they came up short and lost to Plainfield team Johnson, but all of the girls played a good game and came together at the end for a group picture.

Gilbrech was missing a few players at the final game so he had a few subs from 12U team Wienken, but we have trophies waiting for the girls that were missing when they get back from vacation!

Thanks to all of the parents, players, and coaches for making it such a fun season. See everyone in the spring!

The 12U Blue Jays finished out their season with a picnic pizza party and award ceremony this week. This is a great example of the bond and commitment our coaches and parents have to our players. These teams are truly families.

Thank you to coach Jason and crew for being such dedicated coaches over the years. Your roles are so important to these girls. They have not only become better athletes because of you, but also better people. We’re excited to see what the Blue Jays have in store for us next season!

10U champs baby!!! Congrats to 10U team McGrath on their championship win yesterday in Plainfield. They had a devoted group of coaches, players, and parents this season that worked very hard to become a championship winning team. Thank you coaches and parents for the time you devote to these kids.

6U/8U opening day at AJAA was a BIG success today! The park was packed with smiling faces and good vibes all the way around for our first 6U and 8U games of the season. The kids had a blast while the parents enjoyed some softball camaraderie and fellowship.

If your child does not already play AJAA Softball, come see what we’re about. We’re always looking for more happy and smiling faces on our fields!

They put up a good fight, but came up short in their final game. Our 18U team Wallace fought through illness and injuries to make it to the final 18U tournament game last night. They won the first one, tied the second one, but ultimately lost in the extra inning. Plainfield team Carrico was a tough opponent and held the score close throughout the entire second game.

The last picture is what it’s all about. Both teams cheered each other on as they accepted their trophies and celebrated together.

Thank you to all of the parents and fans that came out to support all of our teams this season. Avon definitely showed up at every game! Now we’ll take a small break until the fall season begins in just over a month. I look forward to seeing what all of our teams do next season. The improvement I saw this season in all of our leagues was amazing.

Communications will begin shortly regarding next season. Enjoy the summer break, softball families!

This is what it’s all about! Team 18U Wallace recognized the three players on their team last night that are β€œaging out” after this season.

#17 Briley Spaulding will be going to UIndy for nursing

#12 Zoe Miller will be going to Ivy Tech for automotive technology

#6 Hannah Long will be going to Johnson University (Knoxville, TN) to study elementary education and theology.

We wish these girls the best of luck and hope that some of the skills they learned playing AJAA Softball will help them in their future endeavors.

A special thank you to Coach Wallace for creating this awesome experience for his girls and a special thank you to all of our awesome parents. It’s coaches like Jim and our parents that make our softball program so special.
