Blue Moon is when there are 2 full moons in one month.
Take the opportunity to do something that you haven't done in a Blue Moon.
🌕 Come back to your yoga!
🌕 Try practicing a pose you normally opt out of or is challenging, like half-moon on each side to form your full moon.
🌕 Engage in more mindfulness.
🌕 Meditate & "bathe" outdoors during the Blue Moon.
A full moon last 48hrs.
How will you be spending time during the Blue Full Moon?

Day 9 of bird named yoga poses.
Sparrow Pose
Kakrakasana in Sanskrit
A variation of Chair Pose.
You can start in chair squat.
Then interlock hands & extend them up behind your back.
Then raise your heels.
Then bow that feels best for you.
Options:
- winged arms, instead of binded hands
- bow partly
- opt out of heel raise

Your body, your yoga practice.

Just a couple more bird named poses to post to wrap up bird week as I connected yoga bird named poses with the bird week of actual birds that have migrated back up towards upper states (hemisphere).

Krounchasana in Sanskrit
If you wanted to feel extreme engagement in your hams & sciatica, this would be one. Especially with the position of your leg bent outward on mat.
It also strengthens your core & increases back strength.
You can practice this in many variations to meet your body's needs.
- bend the knee of leg up
- sit on blanket
- let leg come down more
- be by wall to support your back
- opt of of outward bend & bend inward

Crane Pose (Bakasana in Sanskrit)
Similar like Crow Pose (my Day 1 picture of bird poses).
The difference is the arms.
Crow Pose, your arms are bent.
Crane Pose, your arms are straight.
Either poses can be practiced with blocks for head & feet. Or, practice by a wall. Wall can support your head.

Feel free to opt for a different seed.
I prefer a thin layer of icing, so that it doesn't take away from the taste of the muffin. But, feel free to add more icing.
If you think that's too much almond ingredients, swap for regular milk and/or oil.

Day 6 of bird named yoga poses.
Pidgeon Pose (Kapotasana)
Like all yoga poses, it has many versions for every body.
My 2 pics are:
• Classic pidgeon on hands/torso upright
• Resting pidgeon with head rested
(on mat, hands, blanket, block)
Some other options:
• Reclining pidgeon on your forearms • Reclining pidgeon on your back with leg crossed ankle over knee
• Seated pidgeon in a chair with foot crossed and ankle over knee with torso hinged.
• Restorative Yin pidgeon utilizing much support with bolsters, blankets & blocks.
Then there are options within those options.
That's what is so great about yoga, so many options for so many types of people to feel inclusive to their yoga practice.
