High Banking, High Speed, and Big Grit at Little Kalamazoo! 🏁✨
What a wild weekend at the NASCAR Youth Series at the Little Kalamazoo Speedway! This track is unlike anything Kennedy has driven before it was super banked, and crazy fast!
Rain canceled all practice sessions, which meant rolling straight into heat races with ZERO track experience and no data for car setup.
Heat Races:
Jr Honda: Started P5 ➡️ Finished P6. (Definitely a tricky start while getting her bearings on a new track!)
Jr Animal: Started P5 ➡️ Finished P4. (Building confidence and getting the feel for the high speed.)
Jr 160: Started P2 ➡️ Finished P3. (She figured it out! Made an epic pass in the final corner for 3rd! 👏)
After the heats, Kennedy found herself in the D Main for Honda and B Mains for both Animal & 160. She fought hard in Honda, advancing to the C Main before that car was done for the day.
Once she cracked the code on this track, she was unstoppable in the lower mains, winning BOTH the Jr Animal and Jr 160 B Mains! 🔥
A Mains:
Jr Animal: Started P7 ➡️ Finished 🏁 5th!
Jr 160: Started P7 ➡️ Finished 🏁 6th!
Our setup was a little off in Animal, and 160 was pure chaos! She got spun three separate times and even flipped her car! 🤯 But in true Kennedy fashion, she brushed herself off, stayed tough, and finished out the race. So proud of her heart, determination, and refusal to give up! On to the next one!
