This sentence ends the conversation for a lot of women and it very often isn’t a judgment about their body at all. There’s a real logistical reason behind most hospital policies here, and knowing that reframes what you’re actually being told. It also means the answer might be different twenty minutes down the road. You’re allowed to ask which limitation you’re running into and to go looking for a provider who is set up for it.
