Ride Like A Girl - Women's Mountain Biking

Ride Like A Girl - Women's Mountain Biking Ride Like A Girl, Women only, 18+. Austin, TX. Riders break into small groups based on ability and then hit the trail with experienced ride leaders.

RLAG offers a supportive MTB program that is designed for women at various skill levels, focus on building confidence, progression & COMMUNITY! Ride Like A Girl is a sister-organization to the Austin Ridge Riders and focuses exclusively on introducing women to the world of mountain biking. Based on research demonstrating that women learn new skills differently from men, rides are designated as “fo

r women only.”

The concept is simple: we meet at local bike trails for group rides and mountain biking skills instruction. These rides are designed for ALL skill levels, from beginner to advanced! Post-ride, the group gathers for a raffle of prizes donated by local bike shops and a growing number of manufacturers. Instruction is provided on everything from riding safety to trail etiquette, bike maintenance, to first aid. Ride Like A Girl grows in popularity each year! We look forward to reconnecting with past participants and introducing a new group of women to the awesome sport of mountain biking. AGE POLICY: Riders must be 18+

While RLAG enjoys seeing young women get involved in the sport, due to a multitude of factors, including insurance liability, rider concerns and requests, and a desire to create a space for women to get together as adults, we have come to the decision to make the rides adult-only. We encourage girls younger than 18 to join their local NICA programs, or other similar groups designed to foster youth mountain biking development!

🚵‍♀️💧 RLAG Hydration Reminder! 💧🚵‍♀️

🚨Before you hit the trails tonight, make hydration a priority! Even if you don’t feel thirsty, riding in the Texas heat can quickly lead to fatigue, cramps, headaches, and decreased focus on the bike.

Best practice for ride day:
✅ Start hydrating early in the morning—not just before the ride.
✅ Drink water consistently throughout the day.
✅ Add an electrolyte drink if you’ve been sweating heavily or spending time outdoors.
✅ Aim for pale yellow urine before heading to the trailhead.
✅ Drink 16–20 oz of water about 2 hours before the ride.
✅ Bring water and/or electrolytes on the trail and sip regularly rather than waiting until you’re thirsty.

A well-hydrated rider is a stronger, safer, and happier rider. Get those bottles filled, hydration packs loaded, and let’s kick off the 2026 RLAG season feeling our best!

See you tonight at Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park!

Ride canceled, the ranch was hit hard by rain

Saturday 8/30 ride change!!!! Hey all you RLAG'rs! If you're planning to ride with us Saturday, we are relocating our ride to Forest Creek Ranch in Dale, Tx. 9:00 AM start time! There will be some snacky snacks/lite lunch provided after the ride. Please bring a chair, what you want to drink and any other snacks to share. There are no amenities at FCR so be prepared to stop at a gas station on the way there or go behind a bush on-site.

When you get to FCR, there are QR codes to pay the $10 access fee and to sign the ranch waiver. Google maps stops at the gate, just follow the road in until you see cars and park wherever.
