Lake Texoma Fishing Report: Bass
Feb 20th, 2026
Water temps on the south end of the lake are still 47-50 degrees in most areas
Water temps on the north end of the lake 56-59 degrees.
Fish are catchable on both sides of the lake, but the techniques are different, and the fish are in different stages. Found fish in dirt shallow water up north, cranking in 2-5' of water. The key was finding that slightly stained water and targeting windblown secondary points with a squarebill crankbait.
South end of the lake, the bass are still staging in that 8-14' zone. During the warmest part of the day, they will move up to feed on the flats, but timing is too difficult to pattern, and the bite does not last long. Brushpiles and offshore rock are holding small groups of bass. Jerkbaits, Alabama rigs, and finesse applications are all playing.
The forage is abundant all over the lake. Tiny little button shad, no more than 1.5".
Striped bass report: (see previous posts). I dont hide backgrounds or even the baits. Ive had a special bite to myself for weeks, but now the guides and other recs have caught wind. The last thing I want to do is go join the others out in the west end of the lake, or far north so ill be continuing to find something different and new. Stay tuned!
I hope everyone has a blessed, and safe weekend. The fishing is turning up just about everywhere! I wish you all the best of luck out there and may all of your lines remain tight!
