First competition since my bicep repair a year ago and the first tournament at purple belt. Purple belt divisions were sparse, so I went up to Ultra-Heavyweight (no weight limit) to get some fights. Match 1 was a conservative win and match 2 was a fight that I ultimately overextended myself in and lost.

Happy to be back competing and coaching. The guys at .jiujitsu did great and it was an honor and a joy to compete alongside them. as well as Asher and Matt. Great jobs guys. Let's start preparing for the next one.

Jiu Jitsu is complex. It requires a great deal of context in order to understand why certain techniques or positions are advantageous while others are not. Most jiu jitsu content is directed at people with some experience in the activity. Content that does not require months of personal experience in the sport is difficult to find. My goal for this page is to provide answers to questions that parents of children in our program may have. Why are you on the ground in the first place? What is a guard? Why are you playing that game or doing that drill?
