Try sculling and sweep rowing! Or just rent kayaks or canoes and see downtown Austin! Our mission at the Texas Rowing Center is to provide enjoyable paddling and rowing to everyone who wants to participate, regardless of experience or ability. We are partnered with the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department to provide a safe and fun environment on Lady Bird Lake. We team up with local non-

profit organizations to keep our trails and water ways clean. In addition to providing daily instruction for rowing, kayaking, canoeing, and stand-up paddle (SUP) boarding, TRC offers hourly and daily rentals for visitors, as well as annual membership packages. We also host youth summer camps, after-school rowing programs, competitive rowing teams for adults, Paralympics training for athletes with physical and intellectual disabilities, and several other events and classes throughout the year.

Our next Latino Moonlight Serenade is coming up next Friday, August 28th!! We are excited to welcome Andrea Daniela who will be performing live at the event!

We will be doing even more TRC gift card and t-shirts giveaways at the event in honor of 20 years of Latino Moonlight Serenades!

Check-in begins at 6:15pm, and we will launch at 7:00pm.

Next up in our Texas Rowing Center Juniors Program alumni series is Luella Bowersock!

Luella was the captain of our Varsity Women’s Rowing team and most recently rowed at the highly successful University of Washington.
 We are so excited to have Luella join the TRC team again, this time as the Varsity Women’s Assistant Coach! We know her experience coaching and rowing combined with her love for the TRC community will make her a fantastic addition to the program.

Registration is now open for the Texas Rowing Center Juniors Fall Season!

We are hosting New Parent Orientations for any parents interested in learning more about rowing and our programs, or for parents whose athletes will be new this semester.

Orientations will be held at the Texas Rowing Center dock:
- This Saturday (August 15th) at noon
- Next Tuesday (August 18th) at 5pm

Registration for the 2026-2027 Texas Rowing Center Juniors season is officially open!

Hear from 2024 Olympian and TRC alum Kate Knifton on how growing up in the TRC Juniors program shaped her as an athlete and a person.

For 25 years, TRC has been helping young athletes build a love for rowing, find lifelong friendships, and discover just how far the sport can take them. TRC athletes have gone on to compete for the Junior National Team, top collegiate programs across the country, and even the Senior National Team.

Registration is now open for the Texas Rowing Center Juniors Rowing Team for the 2026-2027 season!

Whether you are looking to try rowing for the first tine or compete at a high level, we have a program for you!

Novice Team: Open to complete beginners and athletes in their first season of competitive rowing.

Varsity Team: Designed for athletes with one or more years of competitive rowing experience. Both our novice and varsity teams compete at local, regional, and national regattas.

Recreational Team: A fun, non-competitive option for beginners and experienced rowers alike, with the opportunity to stand-up paddleboard as well.

Over the years, Texas Rowing Center athletes have gone on to compete on the Junior National Team, row at top collegiate programs including Texas, Washington, Yale, Brown, Penn, and many more, and even represent the United States at the Olympic Games.
