Same same, but different (but still same)

Slightly different ex*****on, same stimulus

Both use the medial delt as the primary mover
Both abduct the shoulder
Both lead with the elbows
One just has more elbow flexion (and slightly more internal rotation) than the other

Don’t overcomplicate it

Shoulder abduction is shoulder abduction
A quad biased squat is a quad biased squat
A lat focused row is a lat focused row

Sure some variations may have different resistance profiles, longer or shorter moment arms, offer more or less stability, etc…but when we’re considering the tension being applied to the target muscle, they’re nearly physiologically identical.

TL/DR:
Do what feels good
Do what you connect with best
And train like you mean it 😤

But, can’t, try, just…what else we got?

I call my athletes on this sh*t REAL quick 😂

“Do or do not. There is no try”

One trip or bust 😂

Keep the core lifts. Keep the structure. Keep the same target stimulus. Periodize the variables.

Program hopping every 8-12 weeks might keep you interested and excited, but it’s also keeping you stuck.

You know what’s really interesting and exciting?

Results 🤷🏼‍♂️

These cues + proper nutrition, sleep, digestion, and recovery = massive biceps + random strangers saying, “damn do you even lift??” and old men telling you they “used to bench 4 plates in high school” 😂

How dare you hold me accountable to doing exactly what I asked for 😂

If your coach is telling you *what* to do but isn’t explaining *how* to do it or the *why* behind their protocols, at least one of the following is true:

- they don’t know and they can’t explain it (yikes)
- they know, but are afraid you’ll leave if they teach you too much (they’re keeping you dependent)
- they don’t care to make time to explain it
- they’re not actually coaching you (ghost coaching is unfortunately common in this industry and it’s a shame)

Real coaching should be educational.

It should teach you a system and a framework that you can apply to every season of life - not just blindly following instructions for the season you’re currently in to (hopefully) get a result.

There’s a point in our coaching where we want to see YOU starting to interpret your own data and practice identifying what changes you need to make to keep moving forward.

We want to know that you’re learning the system so that one day, you can do it on your own.

Sure, you can stay in our community and group chat, join the weekly zoom calls, and ask your coach questions if you get stuck…

But self-sufficiency and independence without uncertainty or second guessing if what you’re doing is right is the goal for everyone.

Cause keeping you dependent ain’t it ✌🏼

Stop overcomplicating it.

You have time.
What you don’t have is systems.
(and you’re overcomplicating it)

Progress feels easy when the right choices are easy, obvious, attractive, and satisfying - the 4 keys to developing a habit (applies to both good AND bad habits)

Making the right choices feels easy when you’re prepared.

Being prepared feels easy when you stop overcomplicating your process.

You can meal prep food for the week in as little as 10 mins.

You have plenty of time.
You just need better tools and systems.

That’s where we come in 👋🏼

Cause you don’t rise to the level of your goals.
You fall to the level of your systems.
