Yellow Yoga For Kids

Yellow Yoga For Kids Austin, Texas based yoga for kids! FUN exercise for the body, mind and spirit of the child. Serving big souls in little bodies, since 2012. Why kids’ yoga?
1.

Being a kid can be hard.
2. School can be scary and stressful.
3. Yoga can help. Class description:
Yellow Yoga classes are exercise for the body, mind and spirit. We introduce yoga to kids in a fun, dynamic way … through stories, games, stretching and strengthening postures, self-expression, and challenging balance poses. Playful breathing and relaxation exercises are used, which they can carry w

ith them “off the mat” to use in their lives outside of class. Sessions always ends with a relaxing, kid-style guided meditation. About the teacher:
Amy Tomlinson Gayle’s personal journey with yoga began at a gym in south Austin, when she dropped in on a class “hoping to get some stretching and strengthening in.” She found it to be so much more, and was immediately hooked. Her intention in teaching yoga to children is to introduce yoga concepts early in life, that will grow with them. These include skills that will exercise their minds, bodies and spirits. Her hope with each student is for them to form habits they can carry “off the mat,” into their daily lives. Educational background:
Amy earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Psychology, from The University of Illinois. At U of I, she ran cross-country and track and earned All-Big 10 honors. She was University of Illinois’ female scholar-athlete of the year in 1995. She received her Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology at University of Texas. Amy has owned a personal training/coaching business for 16 years. She is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. She was trained and certified in children’s yoga by Radiant Child Yoga.
