We had a really super weekend at the Bluebonnet Classic. This is our favorite show of the year in our own backyard. CTDS does an amazing job and this year was extra exciting because there were two arenas which meant 2x the fun!
We had 12 horses representing Concordia with 9 riders!
Carson had an amazing weekend on her adorable Azteca pony Felix, earning personal best scores at training and 1st level! She scored over 67% at T3 and a 63 and 65% at 1-3. She is now qualified for regionals at training level, 1st level and has also qualified to ride a freestyle!
Dianne and her Oldenburg gelding, Sig, debuted 2-3 for the first time to scores of 62 and 63% to qualify for regional championships, Southwest Dressage Championships and is qualified to ride a freestyle!
Laura Whitfield and her Westphalian gelding, Percy, debuted their 2nd level freestyle to scores of 67% and 69%! This also completes Laura’s USDF Bronze Freestyle Bar requirements!
Alicia and her mustang gelding, Arby, competed at their very first dressage show and qualified for Southwest Dressage Championships at training level with scores in the low 60s!
Angie showed two horses this weekend! On her KWPN gelding, Channing she rode her I-1 freestyle to scores up to 66%! She is now qualified for SWDC!
Angie also showed her new Andalusian gelding, Apostol MEX, in their first show together. In 3rd level test 3, they scored up to 65%. She is now qualified for regionals!
Sarah Newell and her beautiful mare, Vera, had a personal best weekend at 2nd level to score a 65 and 66% at 2-3! Sarah and Vera were 2nd level reserve champion both days, and they're now qualified for regionals!
Sarah Colburn and her lovely gelding, Riz, showed Training level to score in the low 60s! She is now qualified for the Southwest Dressage Championships and has one score towards Region 9 Championships!
Dana showed her Arabian/saddlebred gelding, Kai, to scores in the low 60s at 1-1. He is also now a 2nd level horse, with Martin piloting him around 2-1 to score a 64% both days, which also won him 2 blue ribbons.
Martin and Barbara Hutchinson’s RSH Romeo shined in his freestyle debut, scoring a 72.5% and a 75% in 1st freestyle!!
Martin and Walter and Judy Henslee’s Andalusian stallion, Inolvidable RDL excelled in 4th level test 3 scoring a 66 and 67%, winning the class both days and they were 4th level high point champion for the show both days!
Martin and Walter and Judy Henslee’s Andalusian stallion, Venerable RDL had two beautiful rides at Intermediare I scoring a 62.6 and a 63.8% earning a 1st and 2nd place.
It was a wonderful weekend spending time not only with our clients but also the central Texas dressage community. It’s a friendly bunch and we had a blast! Thank you so much to CTDS for putting on this wonderful event and to all of the volunteers who worked so hard to make the show run smoothly!
