Understand the consequences of your moves. Learn to assess danger and choose the lesser of two evils. That’s how you survive tough spots and master the mental side of the game.

Here’s what it looks like on our mats. Listen to what Anthony Leon has to say. 🥋

There’s something special about siblings training together at AMP BJJ. Watching them both improve, both struggle, both celebrate. That’s what family in jiu-jitsu looks like. Huge congratulations to these siblings on earning their stripes. You’ve been putting in real work.

Parents: if your kids just leveled up, tag us! We love reposting and sharing in your wins.

Stripe promo day at AMP! 🥋 These young grapplers have been putting in serious work on their technique, and what really stands out? Their survival skills and rock-solid defense. That’s the foundation of a strong game. Huge props to every kid who earned their stripes today—you’re building something real!

As adults stepping onto the mat to compete, we all face the same thing: the discomfort of showing up, giving our best, and facing an opponent who pushes back. In jiu-jitsu, there must be a winner and a loser. That’s not a failure of the system. That’s the system working.

Competition teaches us something a technique clinic cannot: how to show up when it matters.

And here’s what I noticed watching our adults compete: our opponents were our best teachers. They exposed gaps. They showed us what works and what doesn’t. They made us better.

So whether you won or lost this weekend, ask yourself this: Am I more capable on the mats today than the version of me that first stepped on the mat? That’s the real measure.

We’re proud of everyone who competed. Keep challenging yourself. Keep growing.

It’s you against you at the end of the day.

Thank you to TLE Leander Nothing beats seeing parents and kids experience jiu-jitsu together for the first time. 👨‍👧‍👦 From learning techniques to understanding how adaptation works on the mat—everyone walked away with something new. Huge thanks to our two ambassadors who helped make it happen. This is what community looks like. 🤝

Two types of people on a Friday night — the dinner-and-drinks crew, and the open mat crew. Which one are you? 👇

Busy week on the mats at AMP — and it showed. 🥋

Summer hasn’t slowed our students down one bit. While others take the season off, these athletes have been putting in the work: building their health, sharpening their discipline, and developing real, practical self-defense skills they’ll carry for life.

This week, that work got recognized.

Congratulations to our newly promoted students. Every stripe and every belt represents hours of showing up, drilling, failing, adjusting, and showing up again. That’s what growth looks like — on the mat and off it.

We couldn’t be prouder of you.

Earned. Not given. 💪
