Chayon-Ryu is based on the movements found within each of its parent styles: Chinese Chu'an Fa, Okinawan Karate, Korean Taekwondo, and Japanese Judo, Jujitsu, and Aikido/Hapkido. Our martial art teaches natural body motion as the basis of all techniques in order to promote power, safety, health, and fitness. Austin Chayon Ryu offers its students strength, balance, stress relief, weight loss, confi
dence, and the ability to count to ten in Korean. We are a lifestyle martial art and strive to practice in a manner that will not result in any injury, permanent or temporary. We have a white belt program that is designed to show you some of everything that Chayon Ryu has to offer. By the end of your first month, you will know enough about our system that you can decide for yourself if it is the right one for you. Beginners will receive instruction in basic self defense, striking, blocking, falling, and throwing. You will also learn the first set of basic forms. More advanced students will learn the history and lore of our five parent styles as well as all the advanced movements and forms Chayon Ryu has to offer.
