GENERALS FALL SHORT, SET SIGHTS ON REMATCH
The Generals fell 13–3 on Sunday at Downs Field, with costly walks and missed opportunities at the plate contributing to the loss.
Defensively, the Generals cleaned things up compared to Saturday’s game, cutting down on errors. But nine walks created extra scoring opportunities that proved costly, and an eight-run fifth inning put the game out of reach.
At the plate, the Generals collected six hits but left seven runners on base, unable to find enough timely hits to bring them home. Matty Heckeroth, Jordan Friedley, Derelle Owens, Omar Dyess, Yimy Galarraga, and Luke Galvin each recorded a hit, while Brian Power and Galvin drove in a run apiece.
The Generals get another shot this upcoming Sunday in a rematch against the unbeaten Royals. The focus is clear: build on the improved defense, limit the walks, and capitalize with runners on base.
