By now, you have heard of HB 1927 and permitless carry. Are you wondering if it has changed the License to Carry (LTC) Program? Good news: The LTC Program remains unchanged by HB 1927, and DPS will continue processing applications and issuing LTCs to Texans.

Are you curious about the benefits of having an LTC? Check out a few of the top reasons to consider getting an LTC below!

📌 An LTC can be used as an alternative to the NICS background check when purchasing a firearm.
📌 Texas has reciprocity agreements with many states, which means your LTC is valid for use in those states, as well as Texas.
📌 In many cases, you can use your LTC as a valid form of identification.
📌 An LTC is still required to carry on university campuses.
📌 LTCs are cost-effective. A standard LTC is $40 for five years — that’s $8 per year!
