If you play at Wooly’s, you probably met Kirstie. She was a feisty volleyball player and a familiar face around the courts.
Kirstie was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago, but she continued to play volleyball every chance she got. She even played on days she received treatment.
Kirstie never let cancer define her. She didn’t hide from it. She faced it head on, with a smile on her face and her fists clenched, ready to fight. Even through the hardest days, she was still Kirstie. Playing volleyball, hanging out, laughing, and always taking the time to chat.
Kirstie passed away yesterday, and she will be deeply missed at Wooly’s.
At the beginning of 2026, she shared these words:
“Life is a tapestry made of highs and lows, each thread adding to the beauty of our individual story.”
If we could all face life with a little of Kirstie’s strength, courage, and outlook, I think we’d live a little more fully and appreciate the time we’re given a little more deeply.
You will be missed Kirstie 💜
