It is nearly impossible to put into words the pain our Central Texas community has experienced over the past week. The loss of loved ones—family members, friends, colleagues—as well as pets, homes, and livelihoods has been devastating. Our hearts go out to every individual and family affected.
At First Tee – Greater Austin, we work every day to support kids through out-of-school programs and camps that foster growth, resilience, and connection. We know how much it means to a child to have a safe space to grow, make new friends, and build inner strength and confidence—especially during difficult times.
Service and giving back are at the core of what we teach. Our students earn additional opportunities through acts of volunteerism and community service, and they understand the power of compassion in action. We also know that pets hold a special place in childhood. Whether it’s a dog, cat, rabbit, chicken, horse, or even a neighbor’s beloved animal, the bond between kids and animals is powerful and healing.
In response to the recent floods, we believe one of the most meaningful ways we can help is by supporting the pets and animals who have been displaced and affected.
In partnership with Austin Pets Alive!, First Tee – Greater Austin will be collecting much-needed pet supplies between Friday, July 10 & Saturday, July 19 at Harvey Penick Golf Campus (5501 Ed Bluestein Blvd).
As recovery efforts continue, First Tee – Greater Austin remains committed to being here for our neighbors—in every way we can.
Thank you for being part of a community that shows up with kindness and care.
