I’m going to be so for real with you: when a recruiter interviews you, they’re actually hoping you get the job.

And here’s what I want you to remember: use your recruiter as a resource.

Ask them questions about the role, the hiring manager, the interview process, and what the team is really looking for.

They’re one of the best people to help you understand how to position yourself as a strong candidate.

Want to know the exact questions you should be asking recruiters to improve your chances of getting hired? Comment ‘QUESTIONS’ below!

10/15/2026

10 questions to stand out as a candidate ⬇️ Save this for your next interview!

1. “What does success look like in this role in the first 90 days?”
2. “What are the biggest challenges someone in this role would need to solve?”
3. “What qualities have made people successful in this role or on this team?”
4. “Why is this position open?”
5. “How would you describe the team’s culture and management style?”
6. “What are the most important skills or experiences the hiring manager is looking for?”
7. “Are there any concerns about my background or experience that I could clarify?”
8. “How does the company support career growth and internal mobility?”
9. “What are the next steps in the interview process, and what’s the expected timeline?”
10. “Based on our conversation, is there anything else I can share to help you assess my fit for the role?”

Don’t just answer questions in an interview. Ask the right ones, too. Comment “questions” and I’ll DM the full list!

I got to cook 👩🏽‍🍳…. I mean vibe code in ServiceNow Studio and as someone in HR/recruiting who usually manages the process rather than handles the technical side, this was SO cool to experience.

I built an app to make my new-hire onboarding process faster.

Normally, once someone accepts an offer, there are a lot of moving parts. I’d have to open a ticket for equipment, email or message different teams, and follow up with multiple people to make sure everything was ready for their start date.

With ServiceNow Studio, I was able to use AI to help build a workflow that brings those steps together instead of managing everything manually.

What I loved most was being able to actually build the solution myself, even without being a traditional developer.

Huge thank you to the ServiceNow team for walking me through the platform and helping me learn how to vibe code. It was so cool to see what’s possible when you understand the problem you’re trying to solve and AI helps you build the solution.

If you want to see what I built, let me know! 👇

Do you actually need AI skills?

The bigger question: How is AI actually being implemented at your organization and how is it changing your role?

Everyone keeps saying you need AI skills to stay competitive… but that’s not necessarily what every hiring manager is looking for. 👀

Expect this one: “How do you use AI in your workflow?”

Don’t just say you’re “proficient in AI.” Show it. Pick one repetitive task, use AI for it, and write down the before and after. Even two interns I met here said their edge came from using AI all through college.

You still need to understand your role. AI is the multiplier.

Save this for your next interview 📌 What’s one task you’d hand to AI?

What’s your job title? Think about your role. Where could AI fit in? Look for the repetitive stuff: data entry, digital tasks, anything rule-based.

That’s what you’ll be tested on, in your current job or the one you’re interviewing for. If you really understand your role, you’ll see where AI belongs in it. And if you can show that, you’ll stand out in this competitive market.

If you’re not job searching, is AI being applied in your job now?

“I’ve always wanted to work for your amazing company because it’s my dream company.”

🚩 Not exactly compelling.

Instead, connect 3 things:
THE COMPANY → THE ROLE → YOU

Example:
“I’ve been following the company’s growth in X, and I’m particularly interested in this role because it would allow me to use my experience in Y to help with Z.”

That shows you’ve done your homework AND understand why your experience is relevant.

💡 Avoid making your entire answer about what the company can give YOU.

Talk about the overlap between what they need and what you bring.
