As an Alutiiq woman, I’m proud to grow Indigenous representation in the wellness space.
Native peoples are often thought of as the “invisible minority,” frequently not covered in statistics or acknowledged elsewhere. Even in my diversity & inclusion classes at University of Pennsylvania / , Natives were categorized as “other.”
Only ~400 people speak the Alutiiq language today, so it’s especially meaningful to me to give new life to this Alutiiq word while establishing presence in the wellness space.
