Meet the owner!
Cassie began her career in 2004 as a High School English Teacher in Chicago Public Schools. She worked with a difficult at-risk population and had a high level of job stress. To cope with the stress, she exercised regularly and upon discovering Pilates, she found the effects were immediate. Pilates gave her strength, flexibility and stamina in ways no other exercise routine ever had. It also relieved stress, and improved memory and concentration. She was immediately hooked.
After 8 years of teaching in the high school atmosphere, she decided to combine her passion for teaching with her love of Pilates and become a certified Pilates instructor. In May 2013, she completed the esteemed Romana’s Pilates certification program after studying and observing over 600 hours directly with master trainers Rhonda Celenza and Juanita Lopez in Chicago. In 2017, she opened her own studio, The Pilates Loft of Chicago, and taught full-time until her family decided to relocate to Austin in 2019. In 2020, she opened her second studio, The Pilates Loft of Austin, in a cozy and inviting loft space in her home, allowing her to raise her daughter while still sharing her passion of classical Pilates instruction. She continues to learn and study Joseph Pilates’ original methods through personal lessons and attending professional workshops with Romana’s Pilates Teacher Trainers from across the country and world.
