Walking Moms of Austin was established in 2020 by the co-founder of Walking Moms of San Antonio (established 2019)
We are a free group for moms in the Austin and greater Austin area. Our members have the freedom to host their own walks or fitness focused events through our private Facebook group. All moms are welcome to join our events with or without their children, regardless of their age or the

age of their children. The only exception is our monthly Moms Night Out event, which is only for moms. In 2022 we started Playdate Moms of Austin as a separate group to continue to strengthen our community and allow members to host even more meetups beyond walks and workouts. Walking Moms value diversity and recognize the unique gifts of mothers from all walks of life. Our common bond is our motherhood and we strive to cultivate a group that includes the diversity of racial and cultural identity and background, nationality, sexual and affectional orientation, gender identity and its expression, religious background and belief, marital status, family structure, age, mental and physical health and ability, political perspective, and educational and class status. We're so sad to hear the troll statue burned down and we are mourning the loss 🥺

We've taken so many walks at Pease Park and our kids loved it so much.

We'll miss seeing you there 😭

Most of our walks are average walking pace. We want to make sure every mom can get out there, because you absolutely can do it!

Once a week a few of us get together to do a light jog. Some of them do it a little faster! You can go a little more of your own pace but still get that accountability that you have to show up for someone else. And it doesn't feel so scary like being alone on the trail does.

If this is what you're looking for, join our Facebook group and find our Monday walks. One member hosts those that want to walk and one member hosts those that want to Jog! (read the description to make sure you found the right event! There's only one event a week like this)

Thanks for walking with us at the Texas State Capitol yesterday!

When I first joined this group, I was just looking for some moms to walk with.

I was new to Texas when I first joined this group and was a little nervous about making new friends. I started showing up to these walks. I made some of my closest friends pushing a stroller and talking over our babies.

These are the same friends who helped me survive 2 under 2, dropped off food, clothes, bottles of rosé, and met me for play dates and much needed wine nights. They literally helped me survive.

If you’re sitting at home, maybe feeling a little overwhelmed, like maybe you just blew your whole life up. Girl, you NEED to get out of the house. This is your sign.

Meet the Playdate Moms of Austin and Walking Moms of Austin admin teams!! We met up a couple months ago to talk about upcoming events and how we can better serve the moms that come to our events.

We're missing one admin in this photo because she just had a baby 🎉congratulations to Kristen.
