🥇🎉 CONGRATULATIONS TO STATE CHAMPION PATRICK HILBY! The rising senior at Aurora Central Catholic High School (and Holy Angels Catholic School alum) clinched the IHSA 800 METER DASH TITLE this weekend and broke the 2A state record with an impressive 1:50.45 finish! WOW!

Congratulations, Patrick! You make us AURORA PROUD!

Former Junior Charger, current Charger! Congratulations Patrick!

Junior Patrick Hilby won the prestigious 800 m run at Palatine! This field is an elite invited meet that features the top middle-distance and distance athletes from the state of Illinois, as well as some elite athletes from Wisconsin and Minnesota! Hilby posted a state-leading 1:52.32 and set a new meet record and broke the former record of 1:52.72 which was set in 2022 by Daniel Watcke of Hinsdale Central. Hilby also broke his own school record! As of 4/23/23, Hilby has the fastest time posted in the 800 in the state of Illinois barring any class and is ranked #32 in the US and #9 in the US junior class!

Visitation for one of my HILLMEN today. Adam’s Mom told me that they found one of my “letters” amongst his things. Back in the day I used to write personalized letters/notes to my football & basketball players. It always amazes me when I hear that one of my players kept one.
