Last night, former Iowa Hawkeye and current San Francisco 49er star TE, George Kittle caught 2 TD’s in the 49ers 21-13 win over the Seattle Seahawks… Kittle ended up catching 4 out of 5 targets for 93 yds, 2 TD’s and most importantly, scored ME 25.3 points for my Fantasy Football team (😉 😎 Jk)!
To make this even cooler, the QB who threw these two TD’s to him was none other than former Iowa State Cyclone, Brock Purdy!!
With that said, was this the FIRST time we’ve ever seen a Cyclone throw a TD (2) pass to a Hawkeye in the history of the NFL?! I’m guessing it could be!
FURTHER YET! The lone Seattle Seahawk TD was a reception by THEIR star TE, former Iowa Hawkeye, Noah Fant! And was the Seahawk C who snapped QB Geno Smith the football that he threw to Fant in the endZone?! None other than former Hawkeye great, Austin Blythe… who also happens to be one of the greatest wrestlers in Iowa HS history with his 4 state finals appearances for Williamsburg HS and 3 state championships, all at 2A 285!
With Tyler Linderbaum scoring the top PFF grade of ALL OL in the NFL last week… and TB Buccaneers, Ko Kieft (placer from Sioux Center) and Tristan Wirfs (State Champ out of Mt. Vernon) doing their thing as well as TJ Hockenson (Iowa Hawkeye football) beastin’ a few times this year, all I can say is HOLY COW, football players who played football and/or wrestled in the state of Iowa at one time or another are having a CRAZY good streak right now! 💪🏻🔨
