History & Future
After completing his carpenter apprenticeship in Chicago to be a journeyman, Ron Kunz became a union carpenter with the Northern Wisconsin Regional Council of Carpenters, Local 1074. Ron was not only a carpenter, but also a sawyer, lumberman, businessman, and woodworking craftsman.
Ron and his Wife SueAnn lived and raised their family in Bridge Creek in the home his father originally built, adding on as his family grew. Ron successfully began a thriving business, Kunz Woodworking, starting with a sawmill, planer and wood shop, and eventually adding a chain saw shop.
Thus, Kunz Woodworking was born in 1962. Ron continued putting his heart and soul into his family and into this business. He, His wife SueAnn and his son, Scott Kunz pushed this business farther than he ever could have imagined. He continued to run his business with pride until he was 80 years old. After his passing in December of 2012 his legacy of Kunz Woodworking was passed on to his wife (SueAnn Kunz), his son (Scott Kunz) and his grandson (Christopher Kunz).
Scott and Chris are now working on expanding the business in many ways. They are looking at expanding the shop and are currently in the process of adding another, larger saw mill.
This busniess has been up and running for 51 years!
We are looking forward to the many more years and generations this business will see in its future.
