Calling ALL Paddlers!
The Exploration Place needs our help!
They recognize our amazing paddling community and asked if any of you would like to join the fun THIS Friday night, June 12 for the annual Duck Races?!? They need paddle boarders and kayakers to jump on the water and help corral over 10,000 Ducks down The Arkansas!
Details are as follows:
Friday June 12th at 6:30 Exploration Place is launching 10,000 rubber ducks from the Keeper of the Plains bridge.
The ducks will (ideally) follow our designated race route along the river, winding around the Exploration Place riverfront where the race will conclude before the 1st street bridge.
The purchaser of the duck who wins the race will win $10,000!
We are seeking volunteers to assist with:
Being in the water, ideally with kayaks or paddle boards to assist with ensuring that all ducks remain in the race route.
Retrieving the ducks to bring them to shore at the end of the race.
Bringing fishing nets to assist with scooping up any ducks that get away.
To ensure we are set up properly we would ask any volunteer to be in the water by 6:15 and possibly be able to assist with retrieval which should be done by 7:30 at the latest.
Following the race, all participants are invited to join our FREE RiverFlix family movie night in the Exploration Place Amphitheater, where we will be screening The Mighty Ducks!
