MINNESOTA LOON RESCUE NEEDS VOLUNTEERS! A FREE TRAINING SESSION WILL BE HELD AT THE GULL LAKE SAILING SCHOOL NEAR BRAINERD ON 8/22. IF THE CLASS FILLS A SECOND SESSION WILL BE OFFERED ON 8/23. We really need volunteers in North, Northeast, and Northwest MN! Training will be provided by Gail Buhl, from Partners for Wildlife. She is a master rehabber and rescuer at Wildlife Rehabilitation & Release (WRR), and a renowned educator. She will be assisted by loon rescuers from WRR and MN Loon Rescue. There is no fee for this one-day training session.

Minnesota Loon Rescue is dedicated to rescuing sick and injured loons across out-state Minnesota. Our trained volunteers transport these beautiful birds to certified wildlife rehabilitation clinics for proper care and recovery.

Big Cormorant Boat Parade. Saturday, July 4. 10 am from the north access. Going clockwise (east) this year. Wake boats are asked to stay to the rear of the parade to allow pontoons and smaller boats to navigate safely. If inclement weather in the morning, parade will start at 2 pm. Watch Facebook for updates. Come celebrate our nations 250th in the parade or from your dock!

Woohoo!! There will be a fireworks show on land and water starting at dark July 4th on our lake. It will be at the end of Seclusion Point road in the cul de sac (south shore of Pikes Bay) There will be more fireworks on the water to follow. This water show will be set to music. Tune into FM 87.9 to listen!
