We were honored to officially celebrate the legends of the Modified Outboard Category during our 51st Anniversary Hall of Champions induction.

These drivers represent the absolute peak of the sport, their dedication, mechanical mastery, and fearless racing have earned them a permanent place among the greatest to ever do it.

Please join us in a massive round of applause for our newest inductees: Braxton Miller, Austin VanOver and Daniel Koschka

From the strategy in the pits to the white-knuckle finishes on the course, these three have set the standard for what it means to be a champion. It was a privilege to honor them at the Annual Meeting surrounded by the APBA family!

Let’s hear it for Braxton, Austin and Daniel!

The power, the precision, and the points are in! We had an incredible time in New Orleans celebrating the drivers who pushed their equipment (and themselves) to the limit this season in the Modified Outboard Category.

Please join us in congratulating our 2025 major award winners:

The Paul Kalb Award: John Hoffman
This honor goes to the driver who absolutely locked it down in a single class, earning the most APBA points in one Modified Outboard category. John Hoffman, your consistency and speed this year were unmatched!

The Bob Goller Award: Austin VanOver
Dominating one class is hard; dominating multiple is legendary! The Bob Goller Award is presented to the driver earning the most APBA points across multiple Modified Outboard classes. Austin VanOver, way to show everyone how it's done across the board!

Rookie of the Year: Keegan Fielder
The future of Modified racing is looking bright! The Rookie of the Year goes to the new driver earning the most points in any one Modified class. To qualify, a driver must have raced no more than three times in their life before this season, and Keegan Fielder took that challenge and ran with it!

Let’s give these guys a huge round of applause!

OK, the ballots have been counted and finalized for the (4) items that went to ballot:

125mod: an EGT sensor is allowed to be placed in the exhaust elbow for data acquisition.

Bmod: it is now possible to mill the head on the OMC 22ci engine, however, the pad must still be showing below the head/cylinder interface.

Cmod: it is now legal to use any 102/202 or 300 series gearcase under either Yamato configuration. Basically you can run a 102 or 202 geacase now under a 302, which was previously not allowed.

FE: removed the minimum throat and venturi dimensions from the single barbell carb allowed on the 49cube 3cyl engine.

Also, the Divisionals have changed, we now only have 2 Divisionals, the East and West. This is the same as the Eastern/Western Championships (old Winter Nats) and you are now allowed to race at both events and obtain double points, even if you are out of the region, like required of before.

With that change, we allowed obtaining 1/2 pt for HOC calculations (must have 5 boats though). It is the same as the East/West Championships criteria!
