What an incredible week in New Orleans! We were honored to officially induct Kolbe Wyant into the Hall of Champions during our 51st Anniversary celebration.

Kolbe’s 2025 season was one for the history books, securing High Point Championships across JH, JR, AXH, and AXR, along with multiple National titles. Seeing such talent and dedication from our J Category represented at the highest level was the absolute highlight of our Annual Meeting.

Congratulations, Kolbe, on joining the ranks of the best to ever do it! The future of boat racing has never looked brighter.

The Future is Fast: Celebrating our 2025 Junior Category Stars!

The next generation of racing legends took to the water in 2025, and the results were nothing short of spectacular! We are beyond proud to announce the winners of this year’s Junior Category Awards.

These young drivers are the heartbeat of our sport. Did you know there were 61 sanctioned junior events last year? That’s more than any other category! A huge shout-out to the 84 drivers who made 729 starts this season as they work their way toward OPC, Outboard, Inboard, or H1.

Help us celebrate the massive achievements of these incredible athletes:

The Kolbe Wyant Sweep
It was a historic year for Kolbe Wyant, who absolutely dominated the leaderboard! 27,022 total points, 68 races, and 8,516 miles driven by Kolbe's parents to get there.
He is the High Point Champion in JH, JR, AXH, and AXR
He is the Closed Course National Champion in both AXR and AXH
He won the Pop Trolian Award, for earning the most APBA JR points (7,725 points!)
He won the R. Steven Hearn Award, for earning the most APBA JH points (7,047 points!)

Special Honors & Scholarships
Michael "Gibby" Gibson Junior Driver Award: Congratulations to Bodin Witmer! This award, provided by Michael Gibson, recognizes Bodin’s dedication and perseverance on the water.

APBA Historical Society Scholarship: A huge congrats to Matthew Shaver of Utica, NY, on receiving this $1,000 scholarship!

We are beyond proud to announce this year’s Scoopomaniac Academic Excellence Award winners! These students haven't just been working hard on the racecourse, they’ve been crushing it in the classroom, too. To determine our winners, the committee reviews both GPA submissions and high-point standings. It’s about being a champion in every sense of the word!
