π£ MONDAY MEMBER SPOTLIGHT π£
Crystal and I started training together after Covid. She had already lost weight on her own, but wanted to take things further β lose more body fat, tighten up, and feel stronger.
Weight training has helped her do exactly that, but itβs gone beyond just physical results. Training has also become an outlet that helps her manage anxiety, improve her mood, and build confidence.
Consistency isnβt easy when youβre balancing life as a busy wife and mom. Since we started, sheβs graduated school to become a stylist, worked full time, moved homes, and handled everything life throws at you β yet she never quit. She kept showing up.
Thatβs what real fitness is about. Not perfection. Not motivation every single day. Consistency through lifeβs chaos. We are so Proud of you Crystal!. π
We asked her some questions, and here are her answers:
1. What was the turning point for losing weight?
I reached a point where I hated how I looked in the mirror, and just felt like I really had to do something to get healthier.
2. What has been the hardest obstacle?
Food! Food is always the hardest part. Life is so busy, and many times I just want to grab something and go, rather than make a complete healthy meal.
3. How did you overcome the obstacle?
I try to get "grab and go" items that are healthy and protein-rich.
4. What does a week workout routine look like for you?
I like to switch between having a day focused on abs and legs, then doing arms, chest, and back on another day. I tend to switch up exercises that hit the same areas so I don't get bored.
5. How do you eat healthy at restaurants or socializing?
I either try to order something healthy, or just not overdo it if I get something not-so-healthy.
6. What was the hardest part and did it get easier?
The hardest part of the whole journey has been sticking with it. Its so easy to make excuses as to why you can't go to the gym that day. I still have days where I have to drag myself in, but I just never stop. I always regret NOT going to the gym, but I never regret having gone.
7. How has obtaining a personal trainer/nutritionist played a role in your journey And what would you like to tell others about your experience with Dustin?
It made all the difference for me. I had tried many times over the years to get healthy, but my habits truly changed only after I started training with Dustin. Having that feeling that someone was expecting me was a big reason I kept it up. The accountability.
8. What are you most proud of?
Im proud of how I haven't given up, like I had so many times before. When people tell me they want to work out more, I tell them they'll never regret it. It's probably one of the most important decisions you can make for yourself, and Im glad I made it.
