On behalf of Green River College Athletics, we are deeply saddened by the passing of Bob. His impact on our college, our student-athletes, and our community is immeasurable. As the founding Athletics Director and the winningest men’s basketball coach in Green River history, Bob helped build the foundation upon which our department stands today. His accomplishments earned him well-deserved recognition in both the Green River Hall of Fame and the NWAC Hall of Fame, but his greatest legacy extends far beyond wins and honors.
Bob remained actively engaged with Green River Athletics long after his coaching career ended. His passion for the college and his pride in the program never faded. In fact, as recently as our coaches’ meetings this spring, we found ourselves reflecting on Bob’s legacy and discussing the values, traditions, and sense of purpose he instilled in our department. His influence continues to shape the way we serve our student-athletes and the standards to which we aspire.
Bob leaves behind a legacy that will endure for generations of Gators. We are grateful for his leadership, his vision, and the countless lives he touched through athletics.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 410 H Street NE, Auburn, WA 98002. Those who knew Bob are invited to attend and celebrate his life and legacy.
If you would like to send a letter of condolence to the Aubert family, please DM or comment below and it will be shared with the family.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, former players, colleagues, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be greatly missed, but his legacy will forever remain a part of Green River Athletics.
