Tevis 2026, wow! The respect I have for the riders,crew and staff insane. I knew it was hard but man seeing it in real time is a new experience.
Amelia did and Chadrak did phenomenal, 64 miles in making the choice that Chad’s health is more important than finishing. Which makes me want to cry because the horse should ALWAYS COME FIRST no matter what is on the line, and for Amelia at 16 to know that, listen to him and the vets. To hear her at the end be happy the with decision and say how she wasn’t going to put her horse through another step until she knew he was feeling better, 😭. She is an amazing young women and I feel honored to be a horse mentor to her in any way, and I feel honored to care for Chadrak and have him play in my pastures, because he is a amazing animal. Congratulations to everyone finishing or not, Tevis prep care and racing is not small feat! I have much respect for all of you!!! Now for sleep, which I’m sure everyone needs!
