💪Build stronger bones. Improve balance. Stay active.

Join the Nemaha County Therapy Department & Wellness Center for our 8-week Better Bones class! This educational and exercise based program is designed to help improve bone health, build strength, reduce fall risk, and support healthy aging.

📆 June 23 - August 20
🕘 Tuesdays & Thursdays at 9:00 AM
📍 Nemaha County Wellness Center

Participants will learn:
✔️ Strength & weight bearing exercises
✔️ Balance training
✔️ Bone health education
✔️ Protein & nutrition strategies
✔️ Safe ways to start or advance strength training

💚 FREE for Wellness Center members
💜 $25 for Non-Members (includes the full 8-week program)

Another great morning at the Wellness Center! This morning we tackled a laid back 5K (no timing, no starting gun, no chips, no medals, etc). This was a fundraiser for inReach Health. inReach works closely with our local hospital, so of course we love supporting local stuff :)

The members of this group (missing one from the picture) each completed a "MURPH" on their own this morning. That's a one mile run, followed by 300 squats, 200 pushups, and 100 pull-ups, and finally another one mile run. This workout honors Lt. Michael Murphy, a US Navy Seal killed in Afghanistan in 2005. Today the Wellness Center honors ALL of those who've made the ultimate sacrifice, so that a tiny little group like ours can enjoy the freedoms of everyday.

As we come into the warmer months, we wanted to share a few reminders for the sauna.🧖🏻‍♀️🧖🏽 Our sauna is a favorite for all members so it's incredibly important that we all do our part in keeping it in working order!

Besides no Internet we are all good here at the Wellness Center. Feel free to come in and get your workout done, but be very careful of downed trees and damage in and around Auburn. AN ENORMOUS shout out to the Board of Public Works, The City of Auburn, and all the first responders in the area (police, fire, rescue, emergency management). We’ve got a great community. Let’s rally and stay POSITIVE!

Another new machine because of an EXTREMELY generous donation. This one is a beaut! It's a recumbent elliptical, and it's partner to the right - the Nu Step - make for very well rounded cardio options for PT patients and folks with limited mobility and/or balance issues. These two machines are very easy to get on and off and because both arms and legs can work at the same time it makes for nice cardio workout. A little stat for you - with this donation we've had a little over $12,000 in equipment donations this year, and they are all LOCAL. Thankful is an understatement.
