Reel Rumors Sport Fishing Charters

Reel Rumors Sport Fishing Charters Walleye fishing charters on Saginaw Bay with a home port of Au Gres. Fish aboard Reel Rumors 2016 24' Kingfisher hardtop customized for walleye fishing.

Captain Dale Megie has been fishing the great lakes for 50 years with much of that time guiding clients hammering walleye on the Detroit River, Lake Erie, Lake St Clair, and Saginaw Bay. Captain Dale has also spent many days fishing for salmon on Lake Huron. His tournament experience includes multiple top ten finishes and a 2nd place finish in the Alpena Brown Trout Super Tournament. Captain Dale

brings this wealth of knowledge and experience to you through Reel Rumors Sport Fishing Charters. You'll fish aboard a new 2016 Kingfisher 2425 Hardtop Mid Coastal made in British Columbia. It features a super strong aluminum fully welded hull complete with an enclosed (when needed) cabin with comfortable seating and an enclosed toilet. The deep hull and wide beam make for a comfortable day on the bay. You'll meet at the Reel Rumors Sport Fishing Charters slip in our home port in the Au Gres River. The trip down the river then out on the bay provides a breath taking view as the sun rises over the water. The return trip will feature lots of pictures, and measuring and weighing "the big ones," Upon request, we will clean and package your fish for the trip home home. Saginaw Bay is an outstanding walleye fishery, and there are plenty of perch that occasionally end up on a line and in the live well. The DNR recently increased the walleye limit to 8 fish, allowing more fishing and more fast action. Our standard charter is a six hour trip with a minimum $450 for two people, and only $50 for each additional person up to 5. Extended charters are available at the captain's discretion. Call to book your trip soon! At Reel Rumors Sport Fishing Charters you'll get more than a fish story!!!

Reel Rumors Fishing Report out of Au Gres 6/18/2026

Winds and small craft advisories over the last two weeks including today and tomorrow have kept the Kingfisher tied to the dock. The long-range forecast indicates the wind will stabilize by Saturday and hold through the upcoming week (so they say?). On a good note, we were able to fish yesterday in perfect weather conditions. The morning started out a little slow but by the second pass in slightly deeper water it was Walleye mania with all hands-on deck, boxing a four-man limit of 32 eyes slightly before noon. Fishing 12 to 14 feet pulling crystal harnesses behind 2-ounce bottom bouncers at a speed of 1.6 was best. “Yellow Belly’, Yellow Belly Bread, and Wicked were our hot baits along with a new prototype we’ve been playing with (“JJ”).

Reel Rumors Fishing Report out of Au Gres 5/29/2026

Finally, back on the Bay after weeks of weather and mechanical delays. With slow reports coming close to Au Gres we made a long run-in search good fishing. Plan A was a bust with just a couple fish to show for our efforts in 28 to 30 feet. A quick run into 12 feet and two passes left us one fish short of a 4-angler limit of 31 walleye. We had to sort due to an excessive amount of 12 inch two-year-olds but certainly worth the effort. Cloudy water conditions with speeds of 1.2 to 1.4 were best while running 2-ounce bottom bouncers. Best harnesses – “Wicked”, “Yellow Belly” and “Money”. Saturday looks like NE blow with small craft advisory tough we have a good forecast for Sunday.
