Wrong first question.
Your gun make and model tells you which choke system fits your barrel. But the choke you actually need depends on what you’re doing.
What are you hunting?
How far are your shots?
What load are you shooting?
Have you patterned it?
General rule:
→ Close-range birds: more open choke
→ Mid-range shots: Modified is a solid starting point
→ Longer shots: tighter choke
→ Turkey, waterfowl, sporting clays: different setups, different answers
The only real answer is this: match the choke to the hunt, then pattern your gun.
Start with your gun make, model, and gauge on our site. Then choose based on the shot you’re trying to make.
No guesswork. No “one choke does it all.”
