Congratulations to Atlantic City High School Crew alumni John Swift, Greg Smallwood and Ryan Pizagno on being named to the Ocean Rowing Hall of Fame’s Class of 2026!

Although ocean rowing is different from the scholastic rowing where their journeys began, it reflects the same passion, discipline and dedication to the sport. Their continued commitment to the craft of rowing is something our entire ACHS Crew family can be proud of.

This is what we hope for every student who comes through the ACHS Crew program: that they develop lifelong skills, build lasting friendships and connections, and find opportunities to remain involved with rowing throughout their lives.

25 years later, we remember. 🇺🇸

Today we honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, the heroes who ran toward danger, and the countless ordinary people who showed extraordinary courage and compassion in the days that followed.

We are thankful for their bravery, their sacrifice, and the reminder of how deeply Americans came together during one of our darkest moments.

May we never forget those who never came home, the families whose lives were forever changed, and all who continue to carry the impact of that day.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

Everyone assumes the Boat Race invented rowing's oldest rivalry.

It didn't. Doggett's Coat and Badge has been raced every single year since 1715, and it's still the oldest continuously run sporting event most people have never heard of.

No trophy case, no medal ceremony. Just a red coat and a silver badge, handed to whoever's fastest between London Bridge and Chelsea.

Three hundred years of competitive psychology reduced to one piece of clothing.

🌙📚 ’Twas the Night Before School — Crew Edition 🚣‍♀️💙🤍

’Twas the night before school, and all through the crew,
The rowers were wondering what homework they’d do.

The oars were all resting, the shells put away,
For pencils and notebooks would take over the day.

We love early mornings, the river, the race,
The pull of the oar and the wind in our face.
We love chasing medals and crossing that line,
But success in the classroom comes first every time.

So sharpen those pencils, set alarms with great care,
Pick out your outfit and fix up your hair.
There’ll be plenty of rowing and practices too,
But tomorrow it’s back to the books for our crew!

May your teachers be kind and your homework be light,
May your schedules work out and your futures shine bright.
Get some sleep, Vikings — tomorrow’s the day…

🏈💚 OUR EAGLES BOX POOL IS OFFICIALLY SOLD OUT! 💚🏈

We would like to sincerely thank each and every one of you for your continued support of our fundraising efforts. We are incredibly grateful for the way our families, friends, alumni and community continue to show up for our rowers.

A very special thank you to Mary Lacovara, who organized this pool for us, and to Julie Lawler, who, alongside Mary, was a driving force in getting all of these boxes sold. We truly appreciate the time, effort and energy you both put into making this fundraiser a success! 💙

Fundraisers like this make a real difference for our ACHS Boys & Girls Crew Teams. The money we raise helps us provide meals for our athletes during long race days in Philadelphia, repair or replace costly equipment, and help cover lodging and travel expenses when the team competes farther from home.

Most importantly, your support helps make rowing more accessible and achievable for our student-athletes. Our hope is that they not only have the opportunity to experience this incredible sport during their years at ACHS, but that they develop a love for rowing that stays with them long after high school.

Thank you for continuing to support our rowers, our program and everything we are working to build. We truly could not do it without you! 💙🚣‍♀️🚣‍♂️
