Well guys a quick big rock recap. We started off with ladies day. Had June and her normal crew. We hooked a nice blue one on a d**k pole prob 350 or a little better and after a 40 min fight the fish changed directions on us quick. I feel like it came across the main line as we broke it off......our angler did excellent it just didnt work out. We ended up catching a wgite and the girls had fun......1st day of the regular tournament we caught a blue and a white. We missed a small blue the 2nd day saw a white our 3rd day and our last day we turned loose a blue one with 3 minutes to spare. There were some really nice fish killed but overall fishing was a little on the slow side. Happy we got the bites we did but always want more. I am very happy for the winners. This year there were some very deserving winners. My friend Cameron Guthrie took first with an unbelievable fish. I mated for Cameron for 4 years my first 4 years fishing full time(not just summers). Hes an unbelievable fisherman and mentor and i couldnt think of a more deserving person. Both captains of the Fenderbender and Haphazard were Oregon Inlet mates and have invested a lot into their careers......theyve put in a lot of hard work and it has paid off. It is great to see driven hard working people succeed......also Rob Orr that runs the Free Ranger out of Ocracoke hung not 1 but 2 impressive fish. An unbelievable accomplishment in my eyes. Another dedicated individual exceptional at his craft. Im a big believer in hard work and I tell my older son often no matter what it is in life you get out of it what you put into it and Im happy to see deserving people succeed. Oil change day tomorrow and hopefully get to fish tuesday.......pics are from our blue marlin monday from a very talented photohrapher that rode with us. Capt Nate

This was the friday before the ladies tournament. Kirk has been blown out about 5 times it seems like but we finally caught a pretty day and were rewarded. We found a few bailers around some patties along with a 37lb citation gaffer! We ended up raising a double header of blue marlins and catching one and hooking a pair of sails and releasing one. A great day overall with even better folks.....

Gonna play some catch up with reports. The wind has been tough on us this year and weve lost quite a few days. This was great friend and client Bill M. He has fished w me a long time and we had some great gaffer fishing......the sailfish we caught ended up being gut hooked. It was legal size so instead of wasting it by turning it back loose we kept it for the grill and smoker. We also saw 2 blue marlin. One was 500 plus and tried to eat the 20ish lb gaffer in the picture right underneath the rigger. We tried to pitch a dolphin to him but we were a few seconds to late......really cool to see. Awesome day with an awesome crew!

This was Thursday before memorial day weekend and the Swansboro tournament. Had great dolphin fishing and caught about a 200 # blue one. Also had a really nice blue marlin 400+ eat about a 15 lb gaffer on a d**k pole. It did not work out but man what a show......you never know what your gonna see. We had a very tough Swansboro Tournament. Had my great friends Chad and Bubba onboard theyve been very good to me over the years. Fishing was not great but I managed to avoid what few were around and we had a slow 2 days.......hopefully the weather straightens out and the fish keep coming.......

Quick update. We fished the Hatteras Village tournament last week......1st tournament of the year for us in NC. Very cool place to be and fish out of with very welcoming local people. Fished 3 days. We saw 8 blue marlin........3 the first day no bites......caught one the 2nd day and the 3rd days we saw 4 and had 3 bites. Last day we had some tough luck we pulled off what looked like a kill fish on a pitch bait and pulled off another on the 50 pitch. Not enough to finish in the money..... Sometimes i think back to the Clint Black song A Good Run of Bad Luck......its fishing and it happens but were grateful to do what we do and its an honor to compete with the crowd we do at these NC tournaments some really world class fishermen. There has been good actiom with gaffers and blue ones at home. We fished today and was 0 for 1 on blue ones and caught a few nice gaffers with the boss. Happy Mothers day from the Annie O crew yesterday. What a special day we had pretty weather and went 4/4 om blue Marlins. Want to wish all the mothers out there a great day. Been some great fishing. Had our good friend Travis on tuesday and we saw 4 and pulled 3 off so it was awesome to have our fortune turn the other way. Been some meat around as well. We just made it up to Hatteras for the 1st tournament of the year. We got some days open when we get back so give us a call and dont let it pass you by. Capt Nate 919 819 2118

Well guys we had a beautiful day on the ocean. Meat fishing had slowed today despite finding good looking water conditions. We pushed offshore and found our 1st blue marlin of the year! Off the top of my head id say there was around 9 or 10 seen from a small fleet......pretty water lots of flyers no tide it looked right......spring is here dont miss out!

Well we got our 1st trip of the year in yesterday. Weather was prettier tham anticipated and we were able to put together a catch. Probably had 6 or so more wahoo bites we didnt get which is encouraging. Blue Marlins already being seen and a few mahis being caught each day. Some pretty weather coming up next week and im only booked friday and dont have April 25th and 26th(sat and sunday) booked. Right now I have Friday May 1st open and had a cancellation for Sat May 9th. Give me a call at 919 819 2118......its time to go dont miss out......
