We had a great day in the Cape Lookout Shootout Tournament yesterday! We caught fish, and had fun. We just need bigger ones next time. Congratulations to all that got a payout yesterday. Special congratulations to David Chavis and Chad "Cape Shootout" Shingleton and the crew of Tide One On for their big win!

Sorry for no posts lately I am not but about 6 months late in updating the fall tournaments for us. It was a tough year as we did not qualify for the championship in the Cape Lookout Shootout but did have one great event for us. Finished 2nd in the Morehead City Open event. Dad, Tammy and Jonathan Care along with Rebecca and I were the team! Tammy and Rebecca caught all the fish and finished first place lady anglers. Dad pulled out first place senior angler. We had 2 great fish with a 42lb fish the first day and a 44 the second day. We were also fishing in yhe NC Troopers Association tournament and had designated the first day as our fishing day so we finished 7th there!! It was a great weekend!!

What a wonderful family fishing day we had for the 4th! Rebecca and Ellen Dorsey each had NC citation triggers. Didn’t get a picture of the old man, but dad was doing work too!! I am so very fortunate to get to do this! Blessed beyond belief!

Finished out the tournament year with the championship of the Cape Lookout Shootout Tournament Series. Didn’t finish the position we wanted but team had a good day with a 49 lb fish for 4th place big fish but this was a 2 fish aggregate tournament and could only find an 18lber to go with it. Ended up in 17th overall but still got a check!! Also very proud that Dad won 3rd place for senior angler for the year!! At 84 years young he keeps on being an integral part of the team. Rebecca and I were not able to fish the championship day but had Leah and Trey Grady fish. They are always welcome on the boat and we are so thankful to have them as friends.

Overall we had a very good tournament year with getting a check in each tournament. Now it is time to put stuff back together along with chasing some trout and bottom fish!!

Had a fun day on Saturday fishing North leg 3 of the Cape Lookout Shootout Tournament Series. Made a very long run and got lucky with a few bites. Bite was extremely slow due to what I am guessing was the full moon. Ended up with a couple of fish weighing 28 and 26 pounds and picking up 11th place overall. We just missed making the double barrel 2 fish aggregate by a half a pound. Dad did get 2nd senior angler! We were able to qualify for the championship in 7th place and look forward to it in a couple of weeks!! Thanks to Windy Conditions Fishing Team for the picture while fighting one of our fish. Congratulations to them in putting on a clinic catching fish that day!! That train is rolling!!

The King's Ransom Fishing Team is back at it! The Cape Lookout Shootout North Division season was off to a slow start because the first event was postponed due to weather. The September 16th event became the starter. The team had a decent day. Ron, Matt, and Ron Sr. had to get it done without me. COVID... enough said. They didn't get the big one, but got one good enough for 9th place.
The alternate event was in jeopardy also, but went on as scheduled September 30th. It was a tough bite with a strong North wind blowing. We managed to find a 16.60 pound fish to help us in the points race, and a little bit of gas money because of the Team 7 Team Up win.
We're looking forward to the third leg scheduled for October 28th, and hope for a strong showing.
Congratulations to everyone that has weighed a fish so far, and good luck in the third leg!

What a fun time fishing the king mackerel tournament. After an epic day one of fishing we were is 33rd place. After day 2 we bumped up to 18th. Not the finish we would like but we had a wonderful time fishing and catching! Thank you to Jonathan and Tammy Care for joining us for the weekend! Rebecca and Tammy fought the fish and did a fantastic job! Looking forward to the Cape Lookout Shootout championship in a few weeks!

We didn't do what we wanted to do, but we did what we needed to do! The King's Ransom Fishing Team came together for an 11th place finish in the third leg of the Cape Lookout Shootout tournament series. It was a tough bite, and the conditions were less than ideal, but we had fun anyway.
Congratulations to our own lady angler, Rebecca Dorsey, for her second place lady angler finish!
Congratulations to all of the teams that fished and weighed fish.

Had another great day bottom fishing with family and friends. Always thankful for all we have and the opportunity and ability to enjoy what the Lord gives us!

King Mackerel Tournament season is about to start for us. The first leg of the Cape Lookout Shootout for the north division is next weekend. We're excited and hoping for a couple of big King's to start the season!

We were lucky enough to find a beautiful day offshore last week, some good fishing with great friends and blackened vermilion snapper for dinner! Happy New Year! Great Health and prosperity to all for 2022!!
