Big Rock Week: The annual reminder that we don’t really understand what is going out there.
It’s a humbling week each year, to say the least. One full of anticipation, hope, stress, excitement, frustration, highs, lows, fun - the list is endless.
We had what has sort of become a familiar Big Rock week. There was lightning damage that killed our shore power connection, wrapped a prop in a cargo net just 141 miles offshore (Capt. Thomas was a beast), caught a white marlin and an eight pound dolphin over our four days offshore, broke a toilet from its foundation, ate some of the best lunches yet, refreshed the Big Rock feed 1,473,847 times, and laughed the entire time. It was another wonderful week chasing the dream!
Thank you to Thomas, Tyler, Tyson, Hunter and the rest of our team for staying positive all week and keeping morale high. Thank you to everyone involved with putting this tournament together. We can’t say it enough how thankful we are to have such a first class production in our back yard. Thank you all again.
As JG repeatedly reminded us, “It was the best time we’ve ever had not catching fish!” We’ll get em next year, JG!!
Congratulations to all the winners and especially to Big Trouble for their bottom of the 9th, walk off grand slam to win it all. That was awesome to watch and we’re happy for you all. Congratulations also to Wave Paver for winning the skill division. That was an impressive, remarkably consistent performance by your team this year. Great work by all the winners this year and congratulations again.
We’ll take the week off to decompress, fix what’s broken, rehash all the what ifs, and then get back after it. Enjoy the week everyone.
And just like that our love, hate relationship with The Big Rock Tournament lives on…. That Super 20 Division is going to be hot in 2026!!
