This past weekend North Georgia Mountain Bike Association VP Bert Harrison and Executive Director Brett Davidson brush cut 7 miles of Upper Bear Creek/Barnes Creek Road to the upper junction of the Mountaintown Connector giving 9 hours of time on Sunday morning.

Keeping Upper Bear open is key to access food plots and emergency access if needed.

Thanks to Allatoona Creek MTB Team and the 36 folks who came out to our monthly work day at Allatoona Creek Park last weekend!!

This crew smashed all the drains on Rusty Bucket and Wildcat and did a ton of corridor work to boot !!

Their hard work totaled 148 hours which equates to a $5212.56 labor contribution given to Cobb County PARKS and the trails we love to ride !!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Dirty Sheets Gravel Cycling Weekend is more than a bike event.

It’s also a fundraiser for North Georgia Mountain Bike Association, a SORBA chapter working to build, maintain and protect trails across North Georgia and Metro Atlanta.

Every rider who shows up helps support that work.

And every volunteer helps make the weekend possible.

We need help from anyone and everyone willing to jump in — cyclists, non-cyclists, families, friends, neighbors, trail supporters, community members and people who just like being part of something good.

This is a full weekend cycling event with riders coming in from around the country and even the globe to ride, camp, explore and enjoy Chattahoochee Hills.

We need help with:

Camping
Registration
Setup
Food
Aid stations
Rider support
Bike course support
Crossing support
Cleanup
And more

You do not have to be a cyclist.

You just have to be helpful, friendly and willing to lend a hand.

Volunteers get food, drinks, our eternal gratitude and a front-row seat to the weekend.

Riders from 14 states and three countries have already registered for Dirty Sheets Gravel Weekend.

And every one of them is helping support new trails in North Georgia and Metro Atlanta.

That’s one of the reasons this weekend matters.

Yes, Dirty Sheets brings gravel, camping, music, firepits, food, family, friends and one very honest day on the bike.

But it also helps fund the work behind the scenes — building, maintaining and protecting the trails we all ride.

Join us THIS SATURDAY for our monthly trail day with Cobb County PARKS at Allatoona Creek Park from 9-12 as we tackle drains and corridor from all the Summer rains we've been having.

Please wear closed toed shoes, long pants, bring a pack, water, snacks, gloves and your epi pen if you are allergic to bees.

We'll meet at the main parking lot at Stilesboro road by the County maintenance building and we'll have lunch and a cold beverage for you after !!

Join us this Saturday from 9-12 as we tackle some storm clean up damage from last week.

Please wear long pants, closed toed shoes, bring a HELMET, gloves, a pack, water, snacks and your epi pen if you are allergic to bees.

We will meet on Gates Chapel Road at the end of Bear Creek Road/FS 241 and shuttle to drop off locations.

Be prepared to hike at least 3 miles and to do corridor and drain work. We will also be running Brush Mowers.

We'll have lunch and cold drinks for you after.
