My 82-year-old client getting comfortable at the bottom of a squat — and I couldn’t be more impressed! 👏

Think about how often we use this movement in everyday life:
⬇️ Sitting down in a chair
⬆️ Getting back up
🚽 Using the toilet
🛋️ Getting up from the couch
🏡 Moving safely and independently at home

Being able to squat isn’t just about exercise. It’s about independence.

If your knees hurt, that doesn’t automatically mean you should stop squatting. Often, it’s a sign that you need to start strengthening your legs and building your capacity gradually and safely.

It doesn’t matter if you’re 30, 50, 70, or 82 — you need to maintain the strength and mobility to get down and back up.

Because when you can no longer perform basic movements like sitting down and standing back up independently, everyday life can become much more difficult — and you may eventually need more assistance with daily activities.

So don’t wait until you lose the ability.

Start strengthening. Start practicing. Start squatting. 🏋️‍♀️ 💪

🎉 Happy 82nd Birthday, Jimmy! 🎂
For 19 years, we have trained together—and what an incredible 19 years it has been. You’ve faced cancer, countless hospital stays, and challenges that would test anyone, yet somehow you keep showing up with that incredible spirit, determination and sense of humor.

There have been so many times you’ve come straight from the hospital to our training sessions!!! You may be 82, but in your mind and spirit you are younger💪❤️

I honestly want to be Jimmy when I grow up! 😂

You are one of the kindest, most fun, and most resilient people I know. I’m so grateful for every workout, every laugh, and every year we’ve shared.

Here’s to you, Jimmy! 🥳💙

Saturdays are for lifting heavy and getting stronger! That was her first time dead lifting the bar, still working on the form. Youth athletes you have to give some pointers for lifting but can’t correct it too much, otherwise they lose interest. Coach in me wants to correct everything at once but they get discouraged, so I am holding back!
