Work up to it, for your health💙😃

Everyone talks about the magic number: 10,000 steps a day. But what’s so special about it?
Walking 10,000 steps isn’t just about burning calories. It’s about training consistency, discipline, and mental reset the same values runners live by.

Those daily steps add up to roughly 7–8 kilometers, enough to improve cardiovascular health, strengthen your legs, and keep your metabolism active all day long.

But here’s what most people overlook: walking regularly lowers stress hormones, boosts creativity, and helps regulate sleep. It’s the simplest way to clear your head without draining your energy.

Studies show that people who walk 10,000 steps daily are less likely to suffer from heart disease, anxiety, and even joint stiffness. The reason is simple: movement keeps your body’s natural systems active your circulation, digestion, and mobility all stay in sync.

If you’re already a runner, adding a few extra walks throughout the day can improve recovery and help you hit your weekly mileage goals without extra strain.

Train for Power—Not Just Strength.

Most active women love to move. Whether it’s running, riding, swimming, lifting, yoga, or simply chasing your kids around, we love to break a sweat and feel the physical and mental benefits that come from that. But there’s one form of training that too often gets overlooked: power training.

Whether it’s due to outdated myths (“I don’t want to bulk up”), lack of time, or just not knowing where to start, resistance training—especially power-based training—is missing from many women’s routines. And that’s a problem, because power is one of the fastest-declining physical attributes with age, and one of the most critical to performance, vitality, and longevity.

I’ve been advocating the importance of LHS (“Lifting Heavy Sh*t”) for years—and now there’s plenty of science to support it. We’ve known for a while that resistance training helps maintain muscle mass and strength. But now we’re seeing clear evidence that power training—the ability to move weight quickly—has an even stronger impact on long-term health outcomes for women.
