🏊‍♀️ Women’s OWS & Transition Clinic Recap 🍑

What a fantastic morning at Mary Alice Park for our final Women’s Open Water Swim & Transition Clinic before next weekend’s GA Peach Women’s Sprint Triathlon!

We loved seeing so many first-time open water swimmers and first-time triathletes building confidence, learning new skills, and encouraging one another.

A huge thank you to Atlanta Triathlon Club and Georgia Multisports Productions for partnering to make this clinic a success, and to all of our coaches and volunteers who helped every athlete feel prepared for race day.

New Sweat Test Center Announcement

We’re excited to share that we’re now an official Precision Fuel & Hydration Sweat Test Center! The test will tell you how much sodium you lose in your sweat so we can help you
personalize your hydration strategy and perform at your best.

How salty your sweat is is largely genetically determined and can vary from as little as 200mg per liter of sweat to more than 2,000mg/l, so a one-size-fits-all approach to hydration just doesn’t cut it.

It’s all done at rest and is non-invasive – no blood test, no need to bust a gut on a treadmill, no need to wait whilst your sample goes off to a lab for top secret analysis. It only takes about 45 minutes including a detailed debrief of your result and your personalized hydration plan.

A few more details from the PF&H team…

Our Sweat Test gives us an accurate reading of the amount of sodium (the key electrolyte lost in sweat) you lose every time you exercise. This is largely genetically determined and it's
relatively stable after infancy, and so in most cases you'll only need one test in your life in order to understand an important part of the hydration equation. Rather incredibly, the amount of sweat sodium lost can vary up to 15 times between seemingly similar individuals.

We combine the reading with the context you give us during the test to create a hydration strategy just for you. We'll advise you on when, what and how much to drink before, during and after training and competitions, so that you're well equipped to achieve your goals.

We'll recommend what strength electrolyte drinks will work best for you in each scenario too. We developed these multi-strength electrolyte tablets because the off the shelf products out
there just don't do the job for most people. Our strongest product, PH 1500 has up to 3.5 times more electrolytes than other brands you might have used before.

We have exclusive access to this fully patented testing technology for sweat testing athletes. It has a long and credible history in medicine as a diagnostic tool for some Cystic Fibrosis.
