Mateo Lozada has rowed with AJ for the past year and a half, and is a recent graduate of Walton High School. He plans to study international economics and finance at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy! Mateo’s favorite memories are placing 12th at the Head of the Charles this past fall, and winning a regional championship in the men’s 2V8+ at SE Regionals 🥇🏆 Congratulations, Mateo!

Celebrating Micaela Lozada! Micaela graduated from Walton High School, and has rowed with AJ for two years. She will be going to Dartmouth College to study government and economics, and row with - go big green 💚🌲! Micaela says she will miss getting to see her best friends everyday, and how they made even the toughest practices fun 🫶 Thank you, Micaela!

Next up! Liam Shepherd has rowed with AJ for the past five years. He is a recent graduate of Dunwoody High School, heading to Tulane University this fall! He asked that we include his planned major and minor of “bread making and bag chasing” 🤨 Liam’s favorite memory is winning the single at Music City Head Race 🥇 (as referenced in Coach Smarr’s banquet speech), and the most important lesson he’s learned from the team is consistency is what counts. Celebrating Max Mollohan! Max is a recent graduate of Hillgrove High School, and is headed to Cornell University this fall 📚 He has rowed with AJ for the last two years, and is the third Mollohan sibling to come through the program! Max is considering walking on to the football team at Cornell (why not rowing?) He says he will miss the friends he’s made here in Atlanta. Good luck, Max! 🎉

Shouting out Nadia! Nadia Estrada is a graduate of Cobb Horizon High School. She plans to study electrical engineering and row with this fall - go Pioneers! Nadia has rowed with AJ for the past six years, and says her favorite memories are her back-to-back trips to the youth nationals grand finals, placing 8th in the U17 8+ and 5th in the 2V8+ with her friends 👊🔥 Congratulations, Nadia!

Carolina Livingston is a senior at The King’s Academy and has been on our women’s team for the past two years. She is headed to Liberty University this fall to study nursing and row with ! Carolina hopes to be a labor and delivery nurse after college. Her favorite memory from AJ is praying with her boat at the start line of Dogwood, and she leaves the club as a 2026 regional champion! Celebrating Grant Landefeld! Grant graduated from Pope High School, and is headed to Penn State to study civil engineering. He has been on the team for 6 years, and is the last of the Landefeld dynasty to come through the program. Grant says he will miss his teammates and the friendships he’s made at AJ. Aarya Nalla is a senior at Westminster High School, and has rowed with AJ for the past 3 years! She will attend Vanderbilt University this fall, and plans to study biology on a pre-med track as well as row with ! She says the most important lesson she’s learned from AJRA is “how to sit in the discomfort and push past the limits we set for ourselves. We are capable of so much more than we think.” Thank you, Aarya! 💛🤍

Our next senior is Katie Crowe! Katie is graduating from Roswell High School and headed to the University of Alabama with - roll tide! She plans to study business analytics and biology. Katie has rowed with AJ for the past 2 years, and says she will miss having boat dinners with her teammates (any good dinners tonight?). Katie’s favorite memory is winning the 2V8+ at regionals, crossing the finish line first with all her friends 🏆 Good luck, Katie!
