Some of our members led and participated in our SCUBA Skills Assessment on Sunday the 29th. The swimming portion was led by Kelli Edwards, where we worked on survival strokes and practiced stroke development for techniques such as the front crawl and breaststroke. Willie James Sanders led the SCUBA portion where we checked off 18 skills including an unconscious diver rescue.
Ground support was managed by SSQ Co-Founder Rob Watts. Our club president led a Try SCUBA Course for two participants who performed quite well and expressed interest in seeking full certification. We finished out the evening with good Jamaican food, stories, and laughs.
